1. Why this notice exists
It describes how Cling collects, uses, discloses, and guards personal information when you use the app. We follow GDPR, CCPA, and, where it applies, Virginia’s VCDPA.
2. What we collect
You give us
- Profile fields: display name, email, date of birth, photos or avatar
- Phone number, if you add it for verification, safety, support, or chat
- Messages and other content you post
- Payment details handled by approved processors (we do not store full card numbers)
The app records
- Device IDs, diagnostics, and feature usage
- IP address, session times, and security logs
- Approximate location only if you turn location features on
3. How we use it
- Run accounts, messaging, and discovery
- Stop abuse, keep the service secure, and enforce our rules
- Answer support tickets and send service notices
- Measure reliability and improve the product
4. Sharing and “sale”
Cling does not sell personal data for money. Vendors who host, secure, analyze, or process payments may receive only what they need, under contract.
Depending on how you use Cling, that can include account IDs, email or phone number, device/usage data, payment records at the processor, and content you choose to send.
California residents can ask whether information is sold or “shared,” which categories, who received it, and why. Under CCPA, “sharing” can include cross-context ads even with no cash changing hands.

5. Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete your data

- Port a copy of your data where the law allows
- Withdraw consent when processing is based on consent
- Object to certain processing
- Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted ads, or other optional disclosures
Virginia (VCDPA)
Virginia residents may confirm processing, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (Va. Code Ann. § 59.1-578(C)).
If we refuse a request, appeal by replying to our email or writing to the address below with subject VCDPA Appeal.

6. Security, storage, children
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk. We keep data only as long as the service, safety work, or law needs it. Cling is for adults 18+; we do not knowingly serve children.
